| Project Description: |
Thermoforming Plastics Machine start up and modifications.
Support and troubleshooting of an Extrusion Thermo Forming Process that makes lids for the food industry. The machine consists of the following:
|
- Cyclone Separator
- Various Hoppers
- Constant velocity extruder feed auger controlled by a variable frequency drive
- Heaters, fans and sensors for temperature control
- Precision Die and vacuum drawn wheel former with water cooling
- Cam driven trim press
- Scrap conveyor and grinder to blow ground scraps to the cyclone separator
- Industrial PC with iFix for setup and control of the machine and a PLC
|
|
The machine was transported from one company to another. The system would not start up and needed additional modifications for the new process. Arseal investigated the system and corrected the errors to get the machine to function. After the machine was running we implemented the modifications to the Intellution iFIX SCADA/HMI and B&R PLC control system to increase productivity of the product line. This particular machine makes recessed plastic lids.
